Our recommended Espresso Recipe

You need: 18g finely ground coffee and your espresso machine

  1. Preheat your machine for 5–10 minutes with the portafilter locked in.
  2. Wipe the basket with a clean cloth.
  3. Break up clumps for an even bed of coffee (WDT tool).
  4. Level the grounds using a distributor.
  5. Tamp the coffee flat and firm with a tamper.
  6. Purge the group head with a quick 1–2 second rinse.
  7. Start brewing and aim for a 25–30 second shot.
  8. Stop the shot at 30–36g espresso in your cup
